Materials

PEACHES & CRÈME, Article 930HC, 100% cotton 4 ply yarn (1 lb. Cone): one cone each of  Color #62Emerald Green , #200 Emerald Frost, and #191 Peppermint.

Size 5/F aluminum crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge

Gauge

In single crochet (sc), 15 sts and 17 rows = 4". Take time to check your gauge.

Abbreviations

Inc - 2 sc in next sc for an increase

Notes

The tree skirt is made of 6 individual single crochet wedges. The tree shaped wedges are Joined together to form the skirt.

Instructions

First Tree (make 3)

With Emerald Frost, ch 2. 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook turn. Ch 1, sc In each sc across; turn.

Row 3: Ch 1, increasing in first and last sts, sc in each sc across; turn. Row 4: Ch 1, sc in each sc across turn.

Rep rows 3-4 until there are 87 sts. Piece should measure approx. 20" long. Fasten off.

Border

With the RS facing, Join Peppermint in lower corner of right edge. Ch 1, sc In each row along side. At top point, (sc, ch 3, sc), sc in each row along second side. Working along lower edge, (ch 1, sl st In next sc) across for rickrack trim, ending ch 1, sl st in first sc and fasten off.

 

Second Tree (make 3)

With Emerald, work as for First Tree. Border

With the RS facing, join Peppermint in lower corner of right edge. Ch 1, sc in each row along side. At top point, (sc, ch 3, sc), sc in each row along second side. Fasten off.

Assembly

Hold WS of one Second Tree to WS of one First Tree. * With the RS of Second Tree facing, join Peppermint with a sl st in first sc below the ch-3 at top of trees. Working through both layers, (ch 1, sl st in next sc) to corner. On Second Tree only, (ch 1, sl st in next sc) across to next corner for lower rickrack trim *. ** Hold the WS of another First Tree to the WS of the same Second Tree. With the RS of the same Second Tree facing and working through both layers, (ch 1, sl st in next sc) across ending ch 1, sl st in last sc. Fasten off **. Add another Second Tree to the last First Tree working from * to *. Add another First Tree to Second Tree working from * * to **. Add last Second Tree to the last First Tree working from * to *. Then, (ch 1',sl st in next sc) across side ending ch 1, sl st in last sc. Working along top; * (ch 1, sl st in ch-3 lp) 3 times **, (ch 1, sl st) across to next ch-3 lp; rep from * across top ending . last rep at **. (Ch 1, sl st in next sc) along last side. At end, fasten off. Weave In loose ends on WS of fabric.
