Collegiate Ribbed Scarf

Supplies for Scarf:
Yarn:
2-3 skeins Peaches & Crème knitting worsted #4 Ecru (B)
2-3 skeins Peaches & Crème knitting worsted #97 Burgundy (A)
Note: Depending on the length of scarf desired with tassels.

Needles:
1 Pair Single Point needles size 7-8 (US)
Other Supplies:
Tapestry Needle
Scissors

To Make Tassel:
With Color (A) wind yarn around a piece of cardboard or cd jewel case till desired thickness is reached. Create two wrappings. Cut 4 8" pieces of matching yarn. Slide 1 piece under the wraps and pull to the top. Tie a knot to secure. Do the same to the other wrap. Slide wraps off the form and secure a thread around the tassel 1/2" down from top. Tie in a knot and cut loops of tassel. Create 2 tassels.

Abbreviations
B2= Border 2 stitches at each end of scarf in garter stitch

Cast on:
27 stitches with color (A)

Knit 1 row of garter stitch, then begin pattern.

Pattern:
x4sts+3

Row 1: B2,*k2,p2* end k2,p1,B2

This 1 row creates the pattern. Knit 4" then change color to (B).
Knit color (B) for 4" end on the same side you began color. Change to color (A). Continue the striping till length of scarf is desired.
Knit border, 1 row garter. Bind off and weave in ends
With tapestry needle, thread the last row with matching yarn. Pull to gather and secure, weave in ends. Add tassel.
