1 Skein of Peaches & Crème Knitting Worsted
Needles:
1 Pair size 7-8 (US) single & double point needles
Crochet hook or tapestry needle
Scissors
For Appliqué:

25 Bright Yellow, 62 Emerald and 61 Teak

1 Pair size 6 (US) single point needles

Abbreviations
B4= Border 4 stitches (moss stitch )
Cast on:
Small Cloth: 20 stitches( 5x5")
Medium Cloth: 26 or 32 stitches ( 6x6" and 7x7")
Large Cloth: 44 stitches( 8x8")
Towel: 44 or 56 stitches ( 9.5")
Back Scrubber: 20 stitches ( %"w x 16"l)
Mug Rug: 20 stitches ( 5x5")
Pattern:
x12 stitches
Row 1(RS) : B4 ,*k6, moss stitch 6 stitches*B4.
Row 2: B4 ,*P6, moss stitch 6 stitches*B4.
Rows 3-8 Repeat Rows 1-2.
Row 9: B4,*moss stitch 6 stitches, k6*,B4.
Row 10: B4,* moss stitch 6 stitches, p6*,B4.
Rows 11-17 Repeat Rows 9-10
Repeat these rows for the pattern.
Cloths, Towels and Mug Rugs:
Cast on desired item and knit moss stitch border for 1" Begin pattern.
Knit till border distance away from desired length, knit border, bind off
and weave in the ends. Sew on Appliqué Sunflower & leaves.
Back Scrubber:
Cast on desired item and knit moss stitch border for 1" Begin
pattern.
12-16"
Knit till border distance away from desired length, knit border, bind off
all but three stitches, slide onto double point needles and proceed to
knit an I-Cord for 9", bind off and sew to other side of scrubber. Cast on
3 stitches and knit a 9" I-Cord for cast on end of back scrubber. Sew to
make handles. Sew on Appliqué Sunflower & leaves
Napkin Ring:
Assemble 1 Sunflower for each napkin ring. Apply flower to ring by
hot
gluing the back to the wreath.
Appliqué Flower Petals:
Cast on: 9 stitches
Row 1: Bind off 9 stitches.
Repeat row 1 for 16-30 petals. Bind off and leave long tail to sew to
center bobble of flower.
Center Flower Bobble:
Cast on 7 stitches
Row 1: K1,m1,knit across, m1,k1.
Row 2: Knit across
Repeat Rows 1-2 till 17 stitches.
Row 3: SSK, knit across, K2tog.
Row 4: Knit across.
Repeat Rows 3-4 till 7 stitches remain.
Bind off and leave long tail.
Weave yarn around the perimeter of the "bobble" pull tight to form a ball,
weave in ends and secure.
Appliqué Leaves:
Cast on 5 stitches.
Row 1: K1,m1,k3,m1,k1.
Row 2: Knit across.
Repeat Rows 1-2 till 9 stitches
Row 3: SSK, knit across, k2tog
Row 4: Knit across.
Repeat rows 3-4 till 3 stitches remain.
Row 5: sl1,k2tog,psso.
Bind off and weave in ends.
Makes 1 Leaf.
Sunflower Assembly:
Sew strand of petals, onto center starting at outer edge , in a
circle sew
the petals securely to the base, weave in ends, Sew leaves to back of
base.
Sew to item desired .
Sample knitted in: Peaches & Crème #165 Daisy Ombre using size 7 (US)
needles. Mix and match the ensemble with #1 White, #10 yellow and
#165Daisy Ombre. Size medium Cloth: 26 stitches.
Appliqué: Country Cotton Cabled #61Teak, #25 Bright Yellow and #62
Emerald Green using size 6 (US) needles
Designer Notes: This ensemble is great for bath & kitchen gifts. Mix and
match the solids and variegated yarns, add in a different color solid for
an accent. Make an extra sunflower appliqué to glue onto a padded hanger,
gift box or card.
