Yarn:1 skein Elmore-Pisgah Country Cotton Cabled Article 940 5/2/3 100% Mercerized Cotton size 5  ( makes at least 4 bookmarks )
 Needles:1 Pair Single Point or  1 Pair Double point needles size 5 (US)
 Crochet hook or tapestry needle
 Scissors
 
 Optional:

 Pins
 
 Abbreviations
 B1= Border Stitches in Garter
 
 Cast on:
 11 stitches
 
 Knit 4 rows of garter stitch, begin pattern.
 
 Pattern:
 x8+1
 Row 1 (WS): B1,purl all stitches,B1.
 Row 2: B1,k1,*k2tog,yo,k3,yo,ssk,k1*B1.
 Row 3: B1, purl all stitches, B1.
 Row 4: B1,k3,*yo,sl1-k2tog-psso,yo,k5*end k3,b1.
 
 Repeat these 4 rows till 1" from desired length, ending on row 4.
 
 Row 5: B2,ssk,sl1-k2tog-psso,k2tog,B2.
 Row 6: B2, purl, B2.
 Row 7: B2, sl1-k2tog-psso-,B2.
 Row 8: B2, purl, B2.
 Row 9: Ssk, sl1-k2tog-psso.k2tog.
 Row 10: sl1-k2tog-psso.
 
 Weave in ends. Add tassel. Starch and Block.
 
 
 Tassel:
 
 To make tassel Wind thread around a credit card narrow width. Wrap thread till desired thickness. Cut two threads about 6" and 10".  Thread the 6"piece at the top of the tassel insert it under the thread an tie at the
 top, secure with a knot. With second piece, secure the tassel by wrapping the thread around, tie in knot. Trim tassel bottom.
