DROPPED STITCH PONCHO

Materials: Peaches & Crème, 100% cotton, 4-ply; 4 -

2 1/2  oz. balls. Color #123 Lemon.

Stitches:  1 row knit, 1 row purl. Stitches are dropped at

the finish.

Needles: one pair #10 strait knitting needles, D3.25

crochet hook.

Gauge: 17 sts and 18 rows=4"

Size: 50" long (folded 25") 19" wide. One size fits all.

Directions:

Leave long tail of yarn at the beginning.

Cast on 82 sts. Knit 50" . At the last row, knit 3 sts

drop the 4th st, knit 2 sts, drop one st. Continue to

drop every 3rd st~ until the end of the row. Finish

it by knitting the last 3 sts. Bind off loosely all

remaining sts. Care should be taken for the dropped sts

to be continuous from the top to the bottom.

Finishing:

Fold the piece in half. Use the long yarn tail

to crochet the edge of the folded garment for 14".

The rest of the edge, which is not crocheted together,

serves as the opening for the head.
